Legendary Pictures has snatched up director Julian Terry’s short horror film They Hear It with the intentions of making a feature adaptation, taking the same path as Lights Out and Mama. Created by Terry as a proof of concept short film, The Hear It will mark his feature directorial debut.
While full plot details for the feature are being kept hush, hush, Deadline is already comparing it to It and A Nightmare on Elm Street. What we do know is that in the movie there is “a mysterious and terrifying noise called The Sound that attracts children when they hear it.”
Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona are producing, with Jacob Chase serving as executive producer. Silk and Blake Avery will oversee for Legendary.
Terry won the Annabelle Creation short film contest last year with his terrifying short film The Nurse, which you can watch below.
