Godzilla has taken over San Diego Comic-Con, next he’ll take over the world. The brand new trailer for Godzilla: King of Monsters is here and reveals a world overrun by god-like creatures.
The sequel, from director Michael Dougherty (Trick r Treat), follows “the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species — thought to be mere myths — rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.”
Vera Farmiga ( The Conjuring franchise), Ken Watanabe (The Last Samurai) and Sally Hawkins (Blue Jasmine), reprise their roles from the previous film.
Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) makes her feature film debut. Kyle Chandler (The Wolf of Wall Street), Bradley Whitford (Get Out), Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton), Aisha Hinds (Star Trek Into Darkness), and Zhang Ziyi (Memoirs of a Geisha) co-star.
Dougherty directs from the script that he wrote with Zach Shields. Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, Brian Rogers and Thomas Tull produce. Alexandra Mendes co-produces for Legendary. Barry H. Waldman, Zach Shields, Yoshimitsu Banno and Kenji Okuhira serve as executive producers.
Godzilla: King of Monsters will smash its way into theaters on May 31, 2019, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures.
