Friday (August 3) marks the 126th anniversary of the infamous 1892 ax murder of the Borden family in Fall River, Massachusetts. What better day to unveil the trailer for the true story inspired film Lizzie.
Academy Award® nominee Chloë Sevigny (Boys Don’t Cry, “Big Love”) stars as Lizzie Borden, the notorious woman at the heart of one of the most enduring mysteries in American history. After a lifetime of loneliness, Lizzie finds a kindred spirit in housemaid Bridget Sullivan (Kristen Stewart) and their secret intimacy sparks an unthinkable act. Director Craig William Macneill (The Boy (2015), “Channel Zero: Candle Cove”) explores the days leading up to the savage crimes in a dark tale of repression, exploitation and thwarted dreams.
Written by Bryce Kass (“13 Reasons Why”), this dark tale’s all-star cast includes Sevigny who stars along with her fellow “American Horror Story” alum Denis O’Hare, as well as Stewart (Twilight), Jamey Sheridan (“Arrow”), Fiona Shaw (Channel Zer0: Butchers Block), Kim Dickens (Gone Girl), and Jeff Perry (“Scandal”). Naomi Despres, Liz Destro, and Chloë Sevigny are producing.
Lizzie slashes her way into theaters on September 14, 2018, from Saban Films and Roadside Attractions. For more information on the film please visit the official website and follow the film on Facebook.
