“Walking Dead” Actress Joins “Swamp Thing”

DC’s upcoming “Swamp Thing” continues to add cast for the James Wan-produced series. The latest addition is “The Walking Dead” actress Jeryl Prescott who is set to play Madame Xanadu, a blind fortune teller with a mysterious past, Deadline reports.
Prescott joins the previously announced cast that includes Jennifer Beals, Maria Sten, and Crystal Reed. Friday the 13th‘s Derek Mears is playing the title character.
The series is based on the comic created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson. “Ash vs. Evil Dead” writer Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman (IT) are writing the script.
Swamp Thing” “centers on CDC researcher Abby Arcane. When she returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.”
Swamp Thing” is expected to premiere sometime in late 2019 on DC Universe and is aiming for an “R” rating.
