Fans of the Alien franchise are learning today that 20th Century Fox recently purchased the trademark for the title “Alien: Blackout” under the category for video games. With the trademark purchase possibly means within a month or two there will be an announcement.
Many are assuming the game’s announcement will be at the upcoming award ceremony The Game Awards as the slogan for the event this year is “Worlds Will Change” which first appeared on Geoff Keighley’s (The host of the ceremony) twitter.

The slogan along with its appearance is hauntingly familiar with the company slogan of the Alien franchises human antagonist, Weyland-Yutani, whose motto is “Building better worlds”

Another post on twitter that’s making fans squirm with excitement comes from gaming legend Hideo Kojima. Kojima who’s known to fans for making the best games in the industry like the “Metal Gear” and “Zone of Enders” series, and the horror sensation “PT”, tweeted that he visited 20th Century Fox and posed with the iconic alien egg. This leaves many to believe that he will be involved with “Alien: Blackout”.

At this time it’s unknown what kind of game it will be, given the title and who may be involved in the production, it’s possible it will be a first-person horror pants-crapping experience. When it comes to the game’s story, which too is unknown at this time, if it will be a standalone story within the Alien universe or if it will be tied to any of the films including Prometheus and Covenant.
