Bryan Bertino, the man behind The Strangers and most recently Mockingbird and the Monster, is in the director’s chair for The Dark and the Wicked, which he also wrote.
In the film, two siblings are summoned back to the family farm, in the middle of nowhere, to await the inevitability of their father’s death. What initially appears to be a timeless ritual of loss and remembrance turns out to be something very different.
Filming is set for Texas as early as February for The Dark and the Wicked, produced by Adrienne Biddle, Sonny Mallhi, and Kevin Matusow producing. Casting news should arrive soon according to Production Weekly.
