It’s official, after years of development Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) and Ben Cavell‘s (Justified) adaptation of Stephen King‘s 1978 novel The Stand is coming to TV. The ten-episode event will be featured on CBS’ streaming service All Access.
The series’ synopsis is as follows:
“The fate of mankind rests on the frail shoulders of the 108-year-old Mother Abagail and a handful of survivors. Their worst nightmares are embodied in a man with a lethal smile and unspeakable powers: Randall Flagg, the Dark Man.”
The Stand, once adapted for a four-part miniseries in 1994, is one of King’s most popular novels, having sold over 400 million books worldwide. King already has several other adaptations on their way including the Pet Sematary reboot, Doctor Sleep, Joyland, the sequel to 2017’s blockbuster IT, as well as HBO’s “The Outsider“.
