Stephen King adaptations are everywhere these days including both films and series. HBO has their own King adaptation in the works, The Outsider.
Today it was revealed by Variety that Ben Mendelsohn is set to star in the series about the investigation into the gruesome murder of a local boy by a seasoned cop and an unconventional investigator. The mystery leads the men to question everything they believe as a supernatural force makes its presence known.
Mendelsohn, who not only stars but will produce,  is most well known for his roles in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and his Emmy Award-winning role in Netflix’s “Bloodlines”. He is also set to star in Captain Marvel.
Jason Bateman (“Ozark”) will direct the first two episodes of the series as well as serve as executive producer. Media Rights Capital will both serve as the studio and produce along with Aggregate and Temple Hill.
