Back in 1993, just in time for Halloween, Tim Burton‘s classic The Nightmare Before Christmas opened in theaters and became a classic.

Directed by Henry Selick, the stop-animation film featured Fright Night’s Chris Sarandon as the voice of Jack Skellington, the king of Halloween Town. During the movie Jack discovers Christmas Town and decides to put his spin on the holiday, only to fail and realize that he belongs in Halloween Town with Sally.

Since the movie achieved cult status, Disney has re-released it several times and even created a ride based on the movie at Disney Land. It’s a bit of a surprise it hasn’t gotten a spin-off or sequel yet, but something is coming according to Moviehole.

Moviehole has a credible source that is reporting that Disney is “doing something with Nightmare Before Christmas – probably a sequel but a live-action adaptation is very possible.”

Disney has been on a mission to turn their classic animated features into live-action films for several years now. Beauty and The Beast, Aladdin, Dumbo, and The Lion King are just a few examples of their classic animations turned live-action.

It would be interesting to see Jack and Sally in the flesh, so to speak. Don’t you think?
