Earlier today we reported that “Swamp Thing” was in jeopardy as is the streaming network DC Universe. The series, originally set to feature 13 episodes has been cut down to 10 with rewrites ordered. The studio suddenly halted production before the last 3 episodes could be filmed.
Within the past few hours, DC Universe has released a teaser trailer for “Swamp Thing” which I imagine was to boost fans’ interest along with giving fans confidence.
The first teaser gives us our first look at Swamp Thing, played by Derek Mears (Friday the 13th (2009), Men in Black II), and he looks a lot like the comic book character he was based on by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson.
Jennifer Beals, Virginia Madsen, Ian Ziering, Will Patton, Andy Bean, Crystal Reed, Kevin Durand, Henderson Wade, Jeryl Prescott, and Maria Sten also star.
“Ash vs. Evil Dead” writer Mark Verheiden and IT co-writer Gary Dauberman penned the series’ script.
As far as we know, “Swamp Thing” is set to premiere of DC Universe on May 31, 2019.
