The trailer for Mike Flanagan‘s adaptation of Doctor Sleep, the sequel to King’s The Shining, is here! We find Danny still struggling from the events he experienced at the Overlook Hotel. Now, a new generation is in danger. But can he help them?
Flanagan re-wrote Akiva Goldsman’sadaptation of King’s 2013 novel which picks up with Danny in his 40s, struggling with the same demons of anger and alcoholism that plagued his father.
In the film, “On highways across America, a tribe of people called the True Knot travel in search of sustenance. They look harmless—mostly old, lots of polyester, and married to their RVs. But as Dan Torrance knows, and spunky twelve-year-old Abra Stone learns, the True Knot are quasi-immortal, living off the steam that children with the shining produce when they are slowly tortured to death.”
Ewan McGregor stars as adult Danny Torrance with Alex Essoe playing the role of Wendy Torrance. Carl Lumby, Kyliegh Curran, Bruce Greenwood, Rebecca Ferguson, Alyn Lind, and Jocelin Donahue also star. Jacob Tremblay plays the role of young Danny.
Doctor Sleep takes us back to the Overlook Hotel on November 8, 2019.
