Late last year we told you that Fede Alvarez (Don’t Breathe, Evil Dead) will be producing a new version of Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Today, Variety reports that Legendary has found its directors as well as their writer.
The Dig directing duo of Ryan and Andy Tohill will be directing the reboot written by Chris Thomas Devlin (Cobweb).
The Tohill’s vision is exactly what the fans want,” Alvarez said in a statement. “It’s violent, exciting and so depraved that it will stay with you forever.”
Reportedly, Legendary will use the reboot to jump-start a new franchise.
The 1974 classic launched a franchise that has seen sequels, reboots, remakes and the 2017 prequel Leatherface. The big question is will it be connected to the original?
