Let’s be honest, thanks to the pandemic, we’ve all burned through most of the good things to watch on Netflix, Prime, Hulu, and Tubi, so I was thrilled Tuesday to find April’s HorrorPack subscription box sitting on my doorstep.

The monthly subscription box contained four Blu-rays, each entertaining in its own way.

  • The  2017 sci-fi horror Life, starring Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Rebecca Ferguson. The film follows a team of scientists aboard the International Space Station who have discovered a new life form, one which caused the mass extinction on Mars. Now, the crew faces an extinction of its own.
  • A Double Feature:  2-Headed Shark Attack and Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus. Both films are cheesy sci-fi action horror flicks.
  • The HorrorPack Limited Edition Blu-ray Nefarious from director Richard Roundtree, a 2019 film about two groups of people brought together after a botched robbery. The group of criminals get more than they bargained for and must find a way to survive a predator of monstrous proportions.
  • 1980’s Demented, in which a woman who has been through hell snaps when her home is invaded.

One of my favorite parts about the subscriptions is that the films you will be getting are a complete surprise. It’s almost like opening presents on Christmas morning, that anticipation of not knowing what’s in the box just before you open it.

Another thing I love about the subscription is the fact that you get four films delivered to my doorstep every month for less than the price of one new Blu-ray.

If you’re not into Blu-rays don’t fret, HorrorPack has a range of different subscription box options. Don’t want to sign up for a subscription? No problem, you have the option of getting a one time box.
