Funcom and game dev The Outsiders today revealed their upcoming first-person shooter that pits players against demons while listening to heavy metal, Metal: Hellsinger.

Metal: Hellsinger is a Rhythm-FPS meaning that players shoot in time to the music the more effective their shots are plus the more intense the music becomes and let’s face it, when it comes to metal, you want to throw up some horns.

The soundtrack for the game is original and will feature vocals from metal’s popular singers, at the time of writing this Matt Heafy of Trivium and Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy are in the game. Each level has its own song that will start off as background music but as players successfully keep the beat by the end of the level the song should become a powerful anthem!

The game’s creative director, David Goldfarb, is known to FPS players as he was lead designer to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3, and was game director for Payday 2.

Metal: Hellsinger will be coming in 2021 to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and on next-gen consoles PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.
