Earlier this year, ABC ordered the pilot for their vampire series “The Brides” from Roberto Aquirre-Sacasa (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) which centered on the Brides of Dracula. News has now come via Deadline that the series will not be moving forward at ABC but will be shopped to other networks.

Gina Torres (“Hannibal”) and Goran Višnjić (“Timeless”) were set to star.

The series is described as “a sexy, contemporary reimagining of the Dracula saga as a family drama with a trio of powerful, diverse female leads. With strong horror elements, a vampire soap about empowered, immortal women and the things they do to maintain wealth, prestige, legacy—and their non-traditional family.”
