Milwaukee’s Twisted Dreams Film Festival has announced that it will, for the first time ever, present a completely virtual version this year. The fest, which proudly proclaims that it features “the most Twisted Independent Films from around the world,”runs from October 1–4.

Twisted Dreams 2020 will be completely virtual for the first time. The festival will kick off Thursday, October 1st at 7pm with a 2-hour block including twisted Wisconsin shorts, spook show shorts, h0us3 Q&A, reality, animation, thrills, and comedy shorts. All purchases will be available to watch until the end of the festival October 4th at 9pm.
Feature events for Twisted dreams will include Q&As with filmmakers including director Michael Fausti on Saturday Oct 3rd at 2pm. For the main event, we will be hosting legendary Troma director Lloyd Kaufmann. There will be a premiere of the new Troma film Slashening 2: The Final Beginning, followed by a live Q&A With Mr. Troma, Lloyd himself. Tickets are limited and are recommended to be purchased in advance. Twisted Dreams will be offering many free to watch Q&As; check the schedule for more details.

Following are the festival’s descriptions of its five feature films.
H0us3
A group of former computer science classmates from university, along with their couples, meet for dinner after being out of touch for several years. During the meal, one of them confesses to having decrypted one of the internet’s most secret files and shows them the augmented reality application found within. Upon trying to alter it, the group will unleash conflicts and events with unexpected consequences, which will only get worse by the second.
Misfit Heights
A Zombie Puppet Musical! Misfit heights is a film about an apartment building populated by puppets who have to struggle for survival when a mad scientist’s plan to rule the world with an army of undead goes awry. It’s up to the last few survivors to fight their way into his secret lab and put an end to his evil plan before they are eaten by the undead, or before the building’s superintendent returns from vacation and evicts them.
Exit
Events take a sinister turn one night in London, when two very different couples arrive at a double-booked apartment. Actions have consequences and not all debts are paid for with money. Leaving, it’s harder than you think.
VHS Massacre Too
The last stand of the American exploitation film. In a post video store era, media consolidation has led to the censorship and near death of the independent and exploitation film industry. Joe Bob Briggs (Last Drive-in), Debbie Rochon (Toxic Avenger IV), Lloyd Kaufman, and James Rolfe (Angry Video Game Nerd) take us on an adventure that leads from the last Blockbuster video store in Bend, Oregon to Troma Entertainment in New York, all in an effort to examine how history keeps repeating itself from the video store era to the modern streaming. This film is a follow-up to the 5-time award winning VHS Massacre documentary, winner of three Telly Awards, a Gold Remi from World-fest Houston, and Best Documentary at Miami Sci-Fi!
Slashening 2: The Final Beginning
Five years after The Slashening, 22-year-old Madison Santangeli moves to Brooklyn to start a new life in the wake of her father’s suicide.
