A Veteran Is Caught In The Clutches Of Twisted Siblings In ‘Why Mona Rae?’

Lorenzo P. Adams (Rotary) makes his feature directorial debut with Why Mona Rae? We’ve got the first teaser for the film premiering in 2021. On an isolated road, a blind military veteran begins to suspect something sinister brewing after she is rescued from a car accident by a mysterious pair of siblings from an Amish community. The thriller stars Georgia Morgan (The Torment of Penelope), Jeremy Gladen (I See You, The Theatre Bizzare), Sara Davenport-Ebersole (Together, Monday Morning), and Vincent Kevin Daniels (Be Strong). Gugu Mbatha-Raw Joins Apple TV’s Upcoming Series ‘Surface’

Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who starred in The Cloverfield Paradox, has joined the cast of Apple TV’s new upcoming series “Surface,” Variety reports. Described as a psychological thriller, the eight-episode series was both created and written by Veronica West (“High Fidelity”). West, Reese Witherspoon, and Lauren Neustadter will executive produce for Hello Sunshine along with Apple Studios producing. At this time, no plot details have been revealed. New Uncut And Uncensored Version Of ‘A Serbian Film’ To Be Unleashed

Unearthed Films has just announced the upcoming 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD release of the uncut and uncensored, remastered version of A Serbian Film, one of the most infamous and brutal movies ever to see the light of day. Unearthed states, “The film shines on beautiful Blu-ray and DVD with English Subtitles. Peter Dinklage In Talks To Star In ‘The Toxic Avenger Reboot’

Troma is going mainstream with a reboot of the horror-comedy The Toxic Avenger which is being produced by Legendary Pictures, the company that brought you Jurassic Park, Crimson Peak, and many other blockbusters. According to Deadline, “Game of Thrones” actor Peter Dinklage is currently in talks to star in the film that will be directed by Macon Blair writer and director of Netflix’s I Don’t Feel At Home In This World Anymore. There is no word yet what role Dinklage will play. The Toxic Avenger premiered in 1984 as a successful midnight movie in New York, becoming a cult classic and going on to spawn three sequels, a cartoon series, a musical, and a Marvel comic. In the movie, Toxic Avenger was created when a meek, bullied mop boy named Melvin falls into toxic waste. After mutating he sets out to stop evildoers. Blu-ray Review: Burst City (1982)

The plot, as very, very loose as it is to Gakuryû Ishii’s (aka Sogo Ishii) Burst City goes kinda/sorta as follows: In a dystopian Japan, gangs of punk rockers put on large concerts (conveyed via music video style vignettes), fight each other for stage time, and form their own dominant, completely out-of-control culture. This of course goes over like a fart in church to the local gangsters who plan on making the city, or more properly the land it sits on, their own. Rioting, rock, racing, and hard fucking (it’s not an “R” word, but it’s in there) ensue! Oh, and before I forget there are also a draconian police force (the Battle Police), a work force comprised of violent heavily armored Road Warrior-style bastards (some mutated, all insane), and plenty of piss n’ puke! Unconcerned with traditional narrative structure, Ishii throws as much light, sound, movement and pure adrenaline on screen as humanly possible… and when the film does
