Christopher Landon, the man behind Happy Death Day and most recently the body swap horror Freaky (review) is returning to write the next installment of the Paranormal Activity franchise for Blumhouse. Landon was also behind the second, third, and fourth films of the franchise as well as 2014’s Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones.
Get this, William Eubanks who recently brought us the deep-sea monster movie Underwater (review) will be in the director’s chair for the found footage flick, THR reports.
According to THR, the project is “being described by insiders as an “unexpected retooling” of the franchise, being made by Paramount Players.”
Franchise producer Oren Peli and Jason Blum of Blumhouse are on board to produce the new installment of Paranormal Activity which is slated to arrive on March 4, 2022.
