It’s been a minute since we’ve had an update on Don Mancini‘s upcoming “Chucky” series from USA and Syfy, but today we have some news.

The folks over at Collider have reported that the cast list out and includes Devon Sawa, the star of 1999’s horror-comedy Idle Hands, and most recently, IFC Midnight’s thriller Hunter Hunter. Sawa joins returning franchise cast members Brad Dourif, who has long been the voice of Chucky, and Jennifer Tilly who plays Chucky’s wife Tiffany.

Zackary Arthur (Transparent), Teo Briones (Ratched), Bjorgvin Arnarson (PEN15), and Alyvia Alyn Lind (The Young and the Restless) will play the series’ four young leads.

In the show, “After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.”

Mancini will serve as writer, showrunner, director, and executive produce. David Kirschner (Hocus Pocus, Frailty), Nick Antosca (Hulu’s The Act, SYFY’s Channel Zero), and Harley Peyton (Twin Peaks, SYFY’s Channel Zero) will executive produce. UCP will produce.
