We here at Horror Fuel.com have been fans of shark films since the moment we first saw Bruce in Jaws, so we’re always excited when we learn of a new aquatic creature feature.
Today, we can report that Alicia Silverstone (Clueless, The Lodge) and James Tupper (“Big Little Lies”) are starring in The Requin.
In the film, a couple (Silverstone and Tupper) are on a romantic getaway in Vietnam. After a massive tropical storm sweeps them away from their seaside villa leaving them alone, injured, and floating on the ocean’s surface with a hungry Great White stalking them from below.
Le-Van Kiet (Furie) wrote and directed the film with Ellen Wander and Jordan Dykstra of Film Bridge International producing and selling the film at the ongoing EFM. Filmed at Universal Studios Orlando, it was also produced by Aaron B. Koontz, Ashleigh Snead, and Cameron Burns of Paper Street Pictures. according to Deadline.
In case you were wondering about the film’s title, The Requin, you should know that “requin” is the French word for shark.
A premiere date should be announced soon. In the meantime, check out the first image to be released.
