Fans of Netflix’s “The Witcher” series will be excited to learn that the new season has officially wrapped filming and is set to premiere later this year.

Starring Henry Cavill as the Witcher, Geralt of Rivia, the series is based on the best-selling book and gaming series. “The Witcher” is a tale of fate and family. “Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts.”

When destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress and a princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the volatile continent together.

It took a massive cast and crew to make this season and included 158 days of filming in 15 different locations, with a cast of 89 actors, and more than 1200 crew members.

This season, “Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans, and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”

To celebrate the wrap of filming Netflix shared a behind-the-scenes video featuring Cavill looking super buff, glimpses at filming locations, and showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich talking about the challenges of filming during the pandemic.
