Back in February, we reported that filmmaker Neill Blomkamp had secretly made the horror film known simply as Demonic. Today we have a first look at the film with several images and an 8mm behind-the-scenes video shot by Blomkamp himself. Needless to say, we’re excited! After all, the film is from the brilliant director behind District 9, Elysium, and Chappie.
In the film, “A young woman unleashes terrifying demons when supernatural forces at the root of a decades-old rift between mother and daughter are ruthlessly revealed in this horror-thriller” from IFC Midnight.
Carly Pope (Elysium), Chris William Martin (The Age of Adaline, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, TV’s “The Vampire Diaries”), and Michael Rogers (TV’s “Siren”, “The Blacklist”, “Supernatural”) are set to star in the supernatural horror.
IFC Midnight will release Demonic in theaters on August 20th followed by an On-Demand and Digital release on August 27, 2021.
