Several years ago it was first announced that Epix would be adapting Stephen King‘s tale “Jerusalem’s Lot,” first published back in 1978. In May we supplied an update, that the series had cast Oscar-winner Adrien Brody in a lead role.
Varriety has now shared the first look at the series titled “Chapelwaite‘ images and a teaser traier to whet your appetite. Brody will star as Captain Charles Boone along side Emily Hapshire (“Shitt’s Creek”) as Rebecca Morgan a new character., an ambitious young woman who left the town of Preacher’s Corners to attend college. When she returns home to write a story for the prestigious Atlantic Magazine she finds herself with writer’s block that lifts when Boone (Brody) comes to town along with his children. Ignoring her mother’s protests she applies to be the governess of the Chapelwaite manor for the Boone family. There she not only writes a great gothic novel, but she also begins to unravel a mystery that has plagued her family and his for years.
“Chapelwaite” is set to premiere this August.
