Shudder has announced some of the cast for their new upcoming horror anthology Horror Noire, based on both the book and documentary series of the same name and will feature some of the best names as well as emerging talent from black entertainment.
Comprised of six tales, titled Daddy, Bride Before You, Brand of Evil, The Lake, Sundown, and Fugue State, the two-hour event will debut on Shudder this October, Deadline reports.
Some of the talent involved includes Tony Todd, Brandon Mychal Smith, Peter Stormare, Sean Patrick Thomas, Malcolm Barrett, Lavell Crawford, Rachel True, Tone Bell, Nathaniel Logan McIntyre, and Lenora Crichlow.
The scripts for the project were written by Victor LaValle (Daddy), Al Letson (Sundown), Ezra C. Daniels (Brand of Evil), Shernold Edwards (Bride Before You), Barnes and Due (Fugue State), and Steven Barnes and Tananarive Due (The Lake).
Dr. Robin R. Means Coleman, author of Horror Noire: Blacks in American Horror Films from the 1890s to Present, is consulting on the anthology. Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror documentary producers Ashlee Blackwell, Phil Nobile Jr., and Kelly Ryan will also consult. Horror Noire is produced by Swirl Films. Executive Producers include ID8 Multimedia’s Shelby Stone and Derek Dudley, in addition to Eric Tomosunas, founder of Swirl Films, and Ron Robinson.
