Following a recent episode of  “What If…” on Disney Plus, there is a rumor that the MCU is making a live-action movie based on the Marvel Zombies. Even though we’ve heard this before, the rumor seems to be somewhat credible seeing that Mark Miller (Kick-Ass, Kingsman), the comic book creator who first brought the story to life, recently released an email newsletter teasing that a live-action film is on its way.

…also (if my sources are correct) a little live-action Marvel Zombies further down the line, but you never heard that from me.

The comic “Marvel Zombies” first debuted in 2005 and was a five-issue limited series set in an alternate universe where the world’s superhero population has been infected with a virus that turned them into zombies.

While writing Ultimate Fantastic Four, Mark Millar decided to introduce an alternate Earth populated by zombies in a “Crossover” featured in issues #21-23. Marvel Comics liked Millar’s idea so, as he wrote the issues, Marvel sought out pitches for a spin-off miniseries featuring that world of  Marvel Zombies they then hired Robert Kirkman to write it and Sean Phillips to illustrate it.
