Master of Horror Mike Flanagan is returning with a new miniseries based on Edgar Allen Poe’s The Fall of the House of Usher.

According to Flanagan, the “miniseries is a modern remix of some of the most iconic works of Edgar Allan Poe. To tell this epic tale of greed, horror, and tragedy, we have assembled the largest ensemble cast in the history of Intrepid Pictures.” The first casting news has come via the “Midnight Mass” director’s Twitter account.

Headlining this incredible ensemble, leading this extraordinary cast as Roderick Usher, the towering patriarch of the Usher dynasty… the legendary FRANK LANGELLA.

Also front and center, reuniting with Intrepid for our fourth project together, my dear friend and invaluable collaborator, the one and only… CARLA GUGINO.

As Madeline Usher, Roderick’s sister and the hidden hand of the Usher dynasty, we are thrilled to welcome the graceful, powerful, incomparable… MARY MCDONNELL.

As Poe’s legendary investigator C. Auguste Dupin, we are so honored to welcome back one of my favorite past collaborators, the extraordinary… CARL LUMBLY.

And a new addition to the dark worlds of Intrepid and of Edgar Allan Poe, playing a character surprisingly at home in the shadows, we are thrilled to welcome… the iconic MARK HAMILL.

Flanagan reunites with actress Carla Gugino who has starred in several of his projects including “The Haunting of Hill House,” “The Haunting of Bly Manor.” and “Gerald’s Game.”

Poe’s The Fall of the House of Usher follows a narrator who visits the last two remaining members of the Usher family. What follows is a horrifying tale. So far all that Netflix has revealed is that this series will also include elements from other tales be Poe.
