Nutcrackers are a staple of holiday decorations. They are creepy as hell if you think about it. The statues stand dead still with blank eyes and gaping mouths ready to crush whatever finds its way into them. Rebecca J. Matthews is bringing those creepy yet festive things to life in her upcoming horror film aptly named Nutcracker.
The film follows a struggling writer visiting her family for the holidays and discovers a life-size Nutcracker that soon springs to life after being possessed.
Beatrice Fletcher, Patrick Bergin, Julie Stevens, Tony Goodall, May Kelly, Stephen Staley, Andy Dixon, Christopher Monplaisir, Chrissie Wunna, and Kelly Rian Sanson star.
Matthew and Scott Jeffery (The Gardener) are producing with Jeff Miller and Mark L. Lester (Firestarter) are executive producing.
Filming for Nutcracker is currently underway according to Dread Central. We’ll keep you posted.
