The Purge actor Frank Grillo is set to star alongside Sarah Dumont ( Scouts Guide to the Apocalypse) in the upcoming cult-based horror-thriller Man’s Son.
Deadline is reporting that the cast also includes Will Peltz (Unfriended) and Sydelle Noel (GLOW), Jaime King (My Bloody Valentine), Katherine Hughes (Kingdom), and Josh Plasse (“iCarly).
“The story surrounds a young couple (Hughes and Plasse) hoping to create an aesthetically pleasing audition tape for an up-and-coming Charles Manson film. But when they choose an eclectic desert Airbnb as the perfect backdrop, the dark events of the audition material slowly slip into their reality… Eventually, they find themselves intertwined in an occult, sinister plot led by King and Grillo’s characters.”
Remy Grillo (Oil and Blood on Canvas) is in the director’s chair. Josh Plasse and Brev Moss wrote the script inspired by modern occult activity in the California Desert, including the Mason family.
Man’s Son will be released by XYZ Films in late 2022 or early 2023. We’ll keep you posted.
