AMC brings Anne Rice’s classic novel “Interview with the Vampire” to life on the small screen just in time for Halloween and the new trailer gives us a taste of what we can expect from the “modern retelling.”
Rice’s novel was first released back in 1976 and tells the story of a two-century-year-old vampire, Louis de Pointe du Lac who tells his life story to a reporter. It went on to spawn a series of books referred to as “The Vampire Chronicles.”
The series centers on Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) and Claudia’s (Bailey Bass) in an epic story of love, blood, and the perils of immortality, as told to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). In 1900s New Orleans, Louis finds it impossible to resist the rakish Lestat de Lioncourt’s offer of the ultimate escape: joining him as his vampire companion. But Louis’s intoxicating new powers come with a violent price, and the introduction of Lestat’s newest fledgling, the child vampire Claudia, soon sets them on a decades-long path of revenge and atonement.”
Rolin Jones (“Friday Night Lights”) created the series and will be serving as both showrunner and writer.
AMC’s “Interview with the Vampire” first two episodes premiere on AMC on October 2, 2022.
