Earlier this week, we reported that the sequel to Tim Burton‘s 1988 classic, Beetlejuice 2, officially has a summer premiere date. Today, news has come that Monica Belluci of the Matrix franchise will play Beetlejuice’s wife. Yes, you read that right; Beetlejuice got hitched, according to THR.
Of course, fans were happy to learn that Wynona Ryder is returning as Lydia. Lydia’s daughter will be played by “Wednesday” actress Jenna Ortega. Catherine O’Hara Is returning, as is Beetlejuice himself, Michael Keaton. Justin Theroux has also joined the cast for the sequel directed by Tim Burton.
Plot details for the sequel have not been revealed, but we’re just happy to see the “Ghost with the Most” in action again.
Beetlejuice II opens in theaters on September 6, 2023.
