Excitement continues to build surrounding the upcoming Beetlejuice sequel. After a long wait and a round of casting news, we finally have the first image from the set. In the image shared by Epic Film Guys on Twitter, we see Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz in her iconic goth style.

The latest actor to join the cast of Tim Burton’s sequel is brilliant actor Willem DeFoe, who has starred in films such as The Lighthouse, Spider-Man, and The Northman. According to THR, Defoe will be playing the role of “a law enforcement officer in the afterlife.”

DeFoe joins returning stars Michael Keaton, Wynona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara and stars Justin Theroux and Monica Belluci. Jenna Ortega (“Wednesday”) will star as Lydia’s daughter.

Beetlejuice II is set to haunt theaters beginning September 6, 2024.
