Valek is back to start a war with Sister Irene in the first trailer for The Nun 2 II, which teases the Nun’s origin.
The Nun saw Sister Irene and Father Burke investigate a suicide at a remote convent in Romania. Sister Irene may have won that battle, but unknown to them was the fact that the demon escaped inside their guide Frenchie.
The frightening flick, set four years after the events in Romania, will see the return of Taissa Farmiga as Sister Irene, Anna Popplewell as Kate, Katelyn Downey as Sophie, Jonas Bloquet as Frenchie, and Bonnie Aarons as Valek/the nun. Storm Reid joins them. Michael Chaves (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It) directed from the script penned by Akela Cooper, Ian Goldberg, and Richard Naig. James Wan is co-producing along with Peter Safran (The Nun). Judson Scott is producing.
James Wan’s Conjuring franchise has expanded greatly since The Conjuring premiered in 2013 and has since branched out into several spin-off franchises, including Annabelle and The Nun, which grossed over $365 million at box offices. Made on a budget of $22 million, The Nun holds the title of the highest-grossing film of the entire franchise.
