Sony Pictures has a long list of titles heading toward release over the rest of 2023 and 2024. Unfortunately, the ongoing SAG-AFTR and WGA strike has affected it greatly. Deadline reports that Kraven the Hunter, Venom 3, the Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel, and They Listen are among those affected. And it’s likely more films will be added to that list.

The Red Band trailer was just released for Kraven the Hunter, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Avengers: Age of Ultron). The film will be delayed from its previously announced October premiere and is now set to debut on August 30, 2024.

Venom 3, set to open in theaters on July 12, 2024, has been bumped to October 2024, but, word is, it’s likely to be rescheduled again.

The untitled Ghostbusters sequel was set for a December 20, 2023, premiere but has now been rescheduled for March 29, 2024.

Blumhouse and Sony’s They Listen, starring Katherine Wterson and John Cho, has been removed from the schedule entirely but is likely to get a premiere sometime in 2024.

This is just the beginning. There will be a lot more delays since AMPTP is still refusing to negotiate with those in the film/TV industry currently on strike, so if you have a problem, take it up with them and not the actors, directors, stunt actors, or crew fighting for changes, fair wages, and to protect themselves from AI concerns.
