September started strong with movies like The Nun II and The Exorcist: Believer opening in theaters last week. This week, there’s no shortage of horror movies headed your way. Here’s what’s coming. To learn more about the film, click on its title.

 

Mega Ape

 

In the movie, “A team of animal rights activists unknowingly release a genetically engineered ape from a top secret research facility, who soon grows to enormous size and embarks on a rampage of destruction in Hollywood.”

Night of the Caregiver

 

Eileen Dietz, star of The Exorcist, next appears in the horror film Night of the Caregiver, whose trailer has just been released and its premiere date announced by ITN Studios.

 

Natalie Denise Sperl (MANK) and Eric Roberts (Dark Knight) also star in the film that centers on Hospice nurse Julia Rowe, who is hired to be a caregiver for Lillian Gresham, who lives in an isolated house in a remote area. Although she is terminally ill, the elderly Lillian is a cordial and sweet lady. However, as the night goes on, Julia suspects something demonic is also dwelling in the house, causing her and Lillian to be in grave danger…

A Haunting in Venice

 

The film, based on Agatha Christie’s 1969 novel “Halloween Party,” has a star-studded cast that includes Tina Fey, Jude Hill, Kelly Reilly, and Jamie Dornan. Kenneth Branagh will be reprising his role as Hercule Poirot from Death on the Nile and Murder on the Orient Express.

 

 

“Set in post-WWII Venice on All Hallow’s Eve, Poirot, now retired and living in his own exile, reluctantly attends a seance. But when one of the guests is murdered, it is up to the former detective to uncover the killer again.”

Elevator Game

You must ride the elevator in a specific sequence to play the game, invoking a supernatural creature called ‘The 5th Floor Woman’. In an attempt to gain more information as to the whereabouts of his sister, Ryan persuades the group to play the game once more and risk unleashing the most fearsome consequences imaginable.”

My Animal

 

Bobbi Salvör Menuez (“Euphoria”) and Amandla Stenberg (Bodies Bodies Bodies) star in this genre-bending supernatural love story. Tormented by a hidden family curse, Heather is forced to live a secluded life on the outskirts of a small town. When she falls for the rebellious Jonny, their connection threatens to unravel Heather’s suppressed desires, tempting her to unleash the animal within.

Lanier
