The Boys” is back, and there’s going to be trouble. Prime Video has now unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming fourth season of the brutal superhero series, and it looks like Homelander (Antony Starr) is becoming even more deadly during the election year.

Last year, Jenson Ackles joined the cast as Soldier Boy. His fellow “Supernatural” star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played his father, John Winchester, on the long-running series, has also joined the cast of “The Boys.” The new trailer gives us our first glimpse of Morgan’s character, who will reportedly play a vital role in the new season. The two aren’t the only “Supernatural” stars featured on “The Boys.” Jim Beaver, who long played Bobby, stars as the Secretary of Defense.

In season four of the Emmy-nominated series, “The world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son and his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team is fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.”

Season four of the series from  Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Cameron Crovetti. Susan Heyward and Valorie Curry have also joined the cast.

The Boys” is based on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s New York Times best-selling comic. The two serve as executive producers for the series along with Eric Kripke, who is the series’ showrunner. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Neal H. Moritz, James Weaver, Craig Rosenberg, Pavun Shetty, Paul Grellong, David Reed, Meredith Glynn, and Michaela Starr also serve as executive producers. It is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television, with Original Film, Kripke Enterprises, and Point Grey Pictures.

Catch up with the first three seasons of “The Boys” now on Prime Video. We also highly recommend checking out the killer, bloody, and brutal spin-off series “Gen V,” which has already been renewed for its second season.
