Hold onto your laser vision, folks, because “The Boys” are back, and there’s gonna be trouble! The new trailer for season four has landed and promises a season drenched in blood, brutality, and political intrigue. The first glimpse at season four offers enough carnage and character reveals to fuel our excitement until then.

Homelander Ascendant: Divide and Conquer

The trailer wastes no time thrusting us back into the twisted psyche of Homelander (Antony Starr). His iconic blue cape dominates the scene as a voice whispers strategies of manipulation and division. This chilling foreshadowing hints at Homelander’s potential political aspirations, perhaps aligning with the presidential campaign of Robert Singer (Jim Beaver) and Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit). One can only imagine the chaos he’ll unleash if he gains more power.

Starlight’s Fight and Hughie’s Hope

But Homelander won’t have it all his way. The trailer shows Starlight (Erin Moriarty) seemingly defying him, sparking protests and public scrutiny. However, there’s also a heartwarming moment with Hughie (Jack Quaid), suggesting a flicker of hope amidst the darkness.

New Supes and Shady Deals

Season four wouldn’t be complete without fresh faces. The trailer introduces a slew of new Supes, each likely harboring their own secrets and agendas. We also see hints of a questionable relationship between Ashley (Colby Minifie) and Vought’s newscaster, Cameron Coleman (Matthew Edison). Is this a budding romance or a power play in disguise?

Jeffrey Dean Morgan joins the cast and is the third “Supernatural” alum to sign on over the past few seasons. He reunites with Jim Beaver and Jensen Ackles.

An Uneasy Alliance?

The trailer culminates with a scene with fans buzzing: Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) shares a tense exchange with newcomer Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Morgan’s character seems unimpressed with The Boys’ methods, hinting at a potentially volatile yet fascinating alliance.

What Lies Ahead?

This trailer merely scratches the surface of what awaits us in Season four. We haven’t seen much of Ryan (Cameron Crovetti), Homelander’s son, nor the mysterious newcomers like Firecracker (Valorie Curry) and Sister Sage (Susan Heyward). The writers’ strike delay might have impacted the season but also fueled anticipation. What creative liberties did they take? How will the show’s signature social commentary evolve in a post-strike world?

Prepare for the Mayhem

While the release date remains shrouded in mystery, one thing is sure: “The Boys” are ready to unleash another explosive season. Brace yourselves for a wild ride filled with supe showdowns, political satire, and enough blood to paint Vought Tower red. This is “The Boys,” and they never disappoint when delivering the shocking, the subversive, and the undeniably entertaining. Watch the previous seasons now on Prime Video!
