Last we reported, Leigh Whannell‘s highly anticipated revamp of The Wolf Man had begun filming. Today, we have the unfortunate update. Originally set to open in theaters in October, the release has now been pushed back to January 2025, Variety reports.
An Amazing Cast and Crew
“Ozark” star and Emmy winner Julia Garner stars alongside Poor Things actor Christopher Abbott. Leigh Whannell, the visionary director behind the critically acclaimed reboot of The Invisible Man and the Saw and Insidious franchises, is at the helm of this monstrous project.
A Family Fights for Survival
This fresh take abandons the original’s cursed couple narrative and offers a terrifying new scenario. A desperate family finds itself locked in a brutal struggle for survival against a bloodthirsty werewolf.
A Legacy Reborn
The Wolf Man, released in 1941, made the monster iconic. Directed by George Waggner, it cemented its place in horror history. The iconic film, starring Lon Chaney Jr. and Claude Rains, continues to enthrall fans today, evidenced by its successful Blu-ray, DVD, and re-release collections that garnered multiple award nominations and a Saturn Award win. This enduring legacy has inspired countless other werewolf films, including Wolfman (1979), The Wolfman (2010), and a plethora of others.
A Howling Good Experience
