This April, Universal Pictures will unleash a blood-drenched new vision of the vampire myth with the highly-anticipated horror film Abigail. Which is coming to theaters nationwide this week.

Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olphin and Tyler Gillett, the directors behind horror hits such as Ready or Not and the recent Scream installments, bring their signature style to this chilling tale with a shocking twist that you can really sink your teeth into.

Hello, Abigail

Gone are the cobwebs and dusty castles. Abigail sheds the classic vampire tropes, embracing a bold new identity. The film centers on a group of hapless criminals who make a grave mistake – kidnapping the daughter of a powerful underworld figure. Easy money, right? Wrong. Their task is simple, to watch the young girl overnight in a secluded mansion. As night falls, one by one, the kidnappers fall victim to a terrifying truth – they’re trapped with no ordinary child. And they’re now on the menu.

Abigail plunges viewers head-first into heart-stopping action set in a fright-filled atmosphere drenched in blood. The would-be kidnappers find themselves quickly transformed from captors to prey. And now they are desperately scrambling to survive as the luxurious mansion becomes their prison.

A Star-Studded Showdown

Abigail boasts a stellar cast. The movie is led by Scream star Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens (The Guest), Kathryn Newton (Freaky), and William Catlett (Black Lightning). The legendary Giancarlo Esposito (“Breaking Bad”) adds his signature gravitas. The young and talented Alisha Weir (Matilda the Musical) portrays the enigmatic and brutal Abigail, a character sure to leave audiences in shock and not soon forgotten.
