From Epic Pictures and DREAD comes The Hangman, a tale of horrors set in the mountains of Appalachia. It is directed by Bruce Wemple (Island Escape, First Contact, The Tomorrow Job), who co-wrote the script with LeJon Woods.

The director had this to say: “We set out to tell a story about the lengths a father will go to get his son back, including coming face to face with a bloodthirsty demon raised from hell. We can’t wait for audiences to come along for the ride.”

The film centers on Leon, a father who takes his teenage son on a camping trip into deep rural Appalachia. Little do they know of the mountainous region’s sinister secrets. A local cult has summoned an evil demon born of hate and pain, known to them as “The Hangman,” and now the bodies have begun to pile up. Leon wakes up in the morning to discover that his son is missing. To find him, Leon must face the murderous cult and the bloodthirsty monster that is “The Hangman.”

LeJon Woods (The Tomorrow Job, Asteroid, The Marked) stars alongside Lindsey Dresbach (“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” Pitchfork) and Vincent Conroy (The Christmas Venue). Zach Wyles and Dan Booke produce.

There are plenty of ways to watch The Hangman. It will be available on Apple iTunes on May 10. It will open in theaters on May 31 and arrive on VOD on June 4.
