Jennifer Love-Hewitt is currently starring in the series “9-1-1,” but she is best known for her role in the I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise. It’s been decades since she played Julie, but it appears that is about to change.

During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hewitt revealed she is currently in talks to reprise her role in a new franchise installment.

”It’s in the cooker, let me just say that. I’ve done a couple of preliminary phone calls. I keep getting these messages from people going, ‘We’re so excited!’ I’m like, ‘Okay, but the train is moving really fast, and I haven’t gotten there yet.’ But it’s nice to know that people are excited at the possibility. Honestly, it’s wild to even think about. Truly, if it comes together, I don’t even know how I’m gonna feel except extremely overwhelmed and grateful” said the actress also known for her role as “The Gost Whisperer.”

In the first movie, which premiered in 1997, four young friends bound by a tragic accident are reunited when they find themselves being stalked by a hook-wielding maniac in their small seaside town.

The cast of I Know What You Did Last Summer also includes Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddy Prinze Jr., Ryan Phillippe, and Anne Heche. According to IMDb, most of the original cast, including Freddy Prinze Jr., will return for the new film directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.

Jim Gillespie directed the original film, which you can stream now on Showtime and Paramount+. After multiple sequels, a series adaptation premiered in 2021. You can watch it now on Prime Video.
