The highly anticipated reboot of The Wolf Man is set to hit theaters in early 2025. Fans are eager to see how Leigh Whannell will reimagine the iconic monster. Today, following the character reveal, the teaser has arrived, giving us a glimpse at a family in danger. And it looks fantastic.

Ahead of the teaser release, a recent sighting at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando gave us our first glimpse at the new take on the classic monster. A video shared on social media by @HHNSpeculationMatt shows a character that appears to be the Wolf Man. But the reveal has left many fans confused and disappointed. The character looks more like a balding, grizzled older man with claws than a traditional werewolf. But for those familiar with similar, more human-like werewolves like in “Teen Wolf” and Wolves starring Jason Mamoa, the appearance of Whannell’s Wolf Man isn’t all that shocking. It is, however, strange that the Wolf Man was revealed so unceremoniously.

Many fans took to social media to express their confusion and opinions on the design. Some questioned the creative choices behind the look, while others hoped it was just a placeholder for the final design.

Fans have become accustomed to Whannell’s trade-marked creativity and talent in the horror genre, like his brilliant reimaging of The Invisible Man. He is also the filmmaker behind the Saw and Insidious franchises, giving him serious street cred in the genre.

Despite the mixed reactions, the Wolf Man is still one of the most highly anticipated films of 2025. The star-studded cast, including Christopher Abbott, Julia Garner, Sam Jaeger, and Blumhouse Productions’ involvement, suggests that the film will be a thrilling and innovative take on the classic monster, and we’re here for it.

Wolf Man is set to bare its teeth in theaters nationwide on January 17, 2025. We’ll keep you posted.
