The first footage from the long-awaited Stephen King‘s classic Salem’s Lot has arrived. MAX has released the first clip from the movie, which sees the group on a mission to find a body. However, it cuts just short before revealing what terrifying things they may find. You can check the footage out for yourself below.
Set in 1975, when King’s original novel was published, Salem’s Lot follows author Ben Mears. He returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot. Haunted by a childhood incident, Mears seeks inspiration for his next book. Soon, he discovers that the town is being terrorized by a bloodthirsty vampire and its loyal servant.
Previous adaptations of Salem’s Lot have been successful, but this new version promises a fresh take on the classic horror tale. Fans of King’s work and horror movie enthusiasts alike will be eager to see writer-director Gary Dauberman‘s vision. Of course, this is by no means his first foray into the horror genre; Dauberman is behind films like IT and The Nun.
The film’s cast includes Lewis Pullman, Makenzie Leigh, Alfre Woodard, and Bill Camp. Dauberman’s creative team also includes seasoned professionals in cinematography, production design, editing, and music.
Initially set to open in theaters, the movie Salem’s Lot will now bare its fangs on MAX this October.
