“Dexter” fans were heartbroken during the season finale of “Dexter: New Blood” after his son Harris (Jack Alcott) left him bleeding out in the snow. But the first details of the upcoming sequel series, “Dexter: Resurrection,” have revealed that our favorite killer, Dexter (Michael C. Hall), isn’t dead. This leaves us asking, what’s next for Dexter?
The first “Detxer: Resurrection” teaser has arrived, and while it doesn’t give us much, it does reveal the logo and the premiere window: Summer 2025. The series creator and showrunner, Clyde Phillips, has since revealed to DiscussingFilm that filming begins in January and will debut in June.
Fans will get their fill of the iconic character with not one, not two, but three series.
The first series, “Dexter: Original Sin,” premiered on December 13, is set 15 years before the original series. It explores Dexter’s formative years in Miami, growing up in the early 1990s. During this time, he grapples with his dark urges while confiding in his father figure, Harry (Christan Slater). Harry, a homicide detective, instills Dexter’s infamous “Code” – a set of rules guiding him to target and eliminate those who escape the justice system. Hall returns as the voice inside young Dexter’s head.
We also saw a brief moment of Dexter in the “Dexter: Original Sin” trailer. It opens with Dexter in the snow, thinking about how life really does flash before our eyes as we die. We then see Hall in the hospital.
“Dexter: New Blood” will return for its second season in 2025. While plot details haven’t been revealed, the show will likely continue following Harrison.
