Fans will be happy to learn that filming is underway in Atlanta on Scream 7. The sequel’s cast continues to be revealed. One of the many casting announcements includes that Joel McHale (It’s a Wonderful Knife, “Community”) will play Sydney’s husband, Mark Evans.
But that’s not all the casting news. Variety reports that Jasmin Savoy Brown (“Yellowjackets”) will officially reprise her role as Mindy Meeks-Martin. Mason Gooding returns as Chad Meeks-Martin, Mindy’s twin brother. The twins, introduced in Scream (2022), are the niece and nephew of the iconic character Randy Meeks, played by Jamie Kennedy.
Scream 7 marks the return of the franchise’s ultimate final girl, Neve Campbell, as Sidney Prescott. Courtney Cox returns to her role as Gale Weathers. New cast members include Celeste O’Connor (Ghostbusters: Afterlife), McKenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire), and Sam Rechner (The Fabelmans). Asa Germann (“The Boys”), Anna Camp (“Pitch Perfect”), and Isabel May (“1883”) will co-star.
The franchise’s stars aren’t the only ones returning. Kevin Williamson, the original movie’s writer, is directing Scream 7, which will be released in theaters on February 27, 2026. With its cast filled with franchise veterans and new faces and the movie’s focus returning to Sydney. We’ll keep you posted as more news surfaces.
