Valentine’s Day got seriously messed up this year, right? Forget the chocolates and roses, Heart Eyes decided to go full-on bloodbath in theaters. And now, if you missed the carnage on the big screen, Sony Pictures has dropped it onto Digital so that you can get your gore fix from the comfort of your couch.
In the movie, for the past several years, the “Heart Eyes Killer” has wreaked havoc on Valentine’s Day by stalking and murdering romantic couples. This Valentine’s Day, no couple is safe.
This ain’t your typical rom-com, folks. Josh Ruben, the man who brought us the surprisingly fun Werewolves Within, directed this brutal little flick. The script? A real powerhouse collaboration between Phillip Murphy, Christopher Landon, and Michael Kennedy. Landon and Kennedy (interview), whom you probably know from the Happy Death Day franchise, have become the go-to guys for intelligent, fun horror. Kennedy also wrote and produced It’s A Wonderful Knife, another holiday slasher..
And the cast? Stacked. We’re talking Olivia Holt, Mason Gooding, Gigi Zumbado, Michaela Watkins, Devon Sawa, and Jordana Brewster. Basically, a bunch of familiar faces getting drenched in some serious red stuff.
So, here’s the plan: ditch the fancy dinner reservations, grab your favorite snacks, throw on your comfiest PJs, and settle in for a night of horror with Heart Eyes. It’s the perfect way to spend a chill evening with seriously twisted fun. Just be prepared for some seriously gnarly moments. This movie ain’t for the faint of heart.
