Ella Rebecca has been in love with the horror genre since an early age. The Bride of Frankenstein began her love of the classics and she's been writing and collecting since.

Quiver Distribution has officially secured worldwide rights to Kristian McKay’s stylish and atmospheric horror thriller KillTrip. This gritty project was filmed entirely on location in Bastrop, Texas, using a sharp script penned by McKay. Be prepared for a film that transforms the classic American road trip into a waking nightmare.

The Cast Ready to Go

The film features a massive ensemble cast including Samaire Armstrong, Corin Nemec, Stelio Savante, Todd Jenkins, and Brittany McVicker. The friends are joined by newcomers Tate Christensen, Diletta Guglielmi, Violeta Ortega, Maya Hendricks, Chase Breithoff, Katherine Franco, and Brian Latimer. The legendary musician John Ford Coley joins the fray.

A Twisted Tale

The story follows a group of ambitious friends as they head to a major Texas music festival. However, their vehicle suddenly breaks down in the absolute middle of nowhere. Stranded and desperate, the travelers accept a life-saving ride. The driver leads them into a dusty town that time seemingly forgot. Once they check into a local motel, the night takes a gruesome turn. One by one, the friends begin to vanish. The thin line between southern hospitality and pure horror is crossed. It becomes chillingly clear that, while the music may be playing in Austin, absolutely no one in this group will actually make it to the show.

A Story Born from Fascination

Director and producer Kristian McKay explains that KillTrip was born from his personal fascination with those eerie spaces between a solid plan and a total shift in reality. He designed the narrative to feel like a slow, hypnotic descent into classical terrors. It’s a world where the dread comes more from what you feel than what you actually see. The movie marks McKay’s first American feature after he previously earned the Golden Palm Award at the Mexico International Film Festival for his acclaimed debut film Ventaja.

KillTrip was produced by Daunesh Alcott alongside McKay for Obscura Films. Stelio Savante brokered the deal on behalf of the production team. Larry Greenberg handled the negotiations for Quiver Distribution to ensure this stylish thriller reaches a global audience of horror fans hungry for a fresh take on the genre.

More to Come

McKay is not slowing down any time soon. His next ambitious project, titled Do Not Open, is already slated to begin filming in Texas this coming summer. For now, travelers should probably double-check their engines and avoid accepting rides from soft-spoken strangers if they ever hope to reach their final destination alive.

A Summer Release

Buckle up, this dark and gritty tale, KillTrip, is set to arrive this summer on July 17.
