It looks like Paul Anthony Kelly is trading the Camelot-style drama of “Love Story” for something a bit more… ritualistic.
Fresh off his breakout turn as JFK Jr., Kelly has officially joined the cast of “American Horror Story” Season 13. The announcement came during Disney’s annual upfronts in New York City. And in true Ryan Murphy fashion, it wasn’t just a press release—it was a spectacle.
Fresh Blood at the Upfronts
The presentation featured a lineup of American Horror Story royalty—Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe, Billie Lourd, and Emma Roberts. They were all flanked by hooded Druids (because what’s a Disney presentation without a little occult flair?). Kelly emerged from the shadows to deliver a line that was equal parts charming and ominous:
“I guess every nightmare needs fresh blood, and 13’s my lucky number.”
The “Supreme” Return
FX is keeping the plot under a heavy shroud of secrecy. However, the official logline is leaning hard into the franchise’s history:
“Which iconic horrors will return to haunt the hallowed halls of 13 and what new terrors await? Light your candles, draw your pentagrams and prepare for a supreme surprise.”
The word “Supreme” is doing a lot of heavy lifting there. Ryan Murphy Productions has already confirmed that Sarah Paulson is stepping back into the sensible heels of Cordelia Goode. You know, the reigning Supreme from Season 3’s Coven.
A “Greatest Hits” Ensemble
Season 13 is shaping up to be the ultimate AHS class reunion. Along with the aforementioned legends, the cast will feature: Ariana Grande (returning), Kathy Bates (multiple seasons), and Leslie Grossman (AHS Freak Show).
The series remains under the executive leadership of creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, along with a production team large enough to fill a small cathedral.
What to Expect
Given the return of Cordelia Goode and the “lucky 13” theme, fans are already speculating that this season will serve as a massive bridge between the show’s many timelines. Whether Kelly is playing a victim, a villain, or a warlock, one thing is certain: he’s about to find out that life in the FX horror-verse is a lot more dangerous than political high society.
