If you like your supernatural thrills wrapped in deep-seated childhood trauma and strict religious guilt, Lightbulb Film Distribution has your plans sorted. The distributor has officially announced the upcoming release of Diabolic.

Directed by Daniel J. Phillips (Awoken), this Australian-produced supernatural thriller aims straight for the subconscious, proving once again that going home is usually a terrible idea.

The Gospel: Unholy Rituals and Childhood Trauma

The plot follows a young woman. Plagued by terrifying and unexplainable blackouts, she decides to return to the strict, isolated religious compound where she grew up. Naturally, instead of finding closure, she uncovers dark secrets from her past—and accidentally unleashes a vengeful, ancient witch via a cursed ritual.

The Congregation

The film features a seasoned genre cast ready to face the holy (and unholy) terror. It stars Elizabeth Cullen (Evil Dead Wrath) as Elise, the troubled protagonist in search of answers. She’s joined by John Kim (The Little Things), Mia Challis (Clickbait), and Terence Crawford (The Babadook).

From the Pulpit

“We are thrilled to be bringing Diabolic to audiences in the UK & Ireland,” says Peter Thompson, Sales & Acquisitions Director at Lightbulb. “Director Daniel J. Phillips has crafted a deeply atmospheric horror feature, and Elizabeth Cullen shines as Elise, a troubled young woman searching for answers after leaving a Mormon fundamentalist group. It’s a genuinely creepy ride, filled with dread, and plenty of jump scares!”

How to Watch

Whether you prefer physical media for your collection or a midnight digital stream, Diabolic is out now in the US and will be available in the UK and Ireland starting Monday, May 25, on Blu-ray & DVD (for the purists) and Digital Platforms (for instant gratification). Consider your next movie night properly cursed.
