Does your current prehistoric theme park feel a bit too safe? And your dinosaurs are entirely too predictable? Frontier Developments has some spectacular news to ruin your safety rating.
The studio has officially announced the Jurassic World Evolution 3: Rebirth Expansion, a massive, game-expanding DLC locked and loaded to stomp onto PC, PlayStation®5, and Xbox Series X|S next week on June 16, 2026.
Priced at $24.99 (£19.99 / €24.99), this marks the management sim’s largest DLC to date. Serving as a direct prequel narrative to the events of Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s upcoming blockbuster film, the expansion drops park managers straight into the deep end of corporate hubris.
Three New Islands, Zero Margin for Error
The expansion’s brand-new campaign splits your attention across three top-secret, highly volatile locations on Île Saint-Hubert. It tasks players with managing a shared cash balance across the entire island chain:
-The Main Facility: The clinical nerve center where you’ll manage some of the world’s most formidable apex predators.
-Ancient Valley: A sprawling, untouched landscape designed to hold colossal, towering species.
-Riverside Lab: A specialized facility engineered specifically for synthesizing semi-aquatic wonders.
For the first time in the series, players can completely ditch the traditional power grid and harness raw Geothermal Energy. You’ll build and micro-manage a vast network of underground steaming pipes to power your security systems—which is fantastic, until a rogue tail-swipe cracks a line and cuts the power to the raptor fences.
Meet the New Inmates (And a Few Genetic Cruelties)
The headline attraction of the Rebirth Expansion is the introduction of four screen-accurate, high-fidelity species that will put your park boundaries to the ultimate test:
-The Distortus rex: The undisputed crown jewel of the DLC. A relentless, aggressively unstable carnivore built with terrifyingly unique kill animations designed to test your security staff’s life insurance policies.
-The Mutadon: A calculated nightmare that combines the pack-hunting cunning of a Velociraptor with the aerial dominance of a Pterosaur. Yes, it can fly, and yes, it will execute aerial ambushes on your guests.
-The Titanosaurus: A colossal, heavy-set sauropod that moves in family units, introducing massive scale (and massive juvenile variants) to the Ancient Valley.
-The Aquilops: A tiny, highly expressive herbivore featuring a unique striped tail and a bizarre habit of shifting from four legs to two.
To make your enclosures look properly cinematic, the DLC also unearths authentic, movie-inspired models and skins for existing heavy-hitters. That includes the adult T. rex, Spinosaurus, Mosasaurus, Quetzalcoatlus, Dilophosaurus, and Velociraptor.
Architecture and Bio-Engineering Upgrades
If you enjoy the creative “sandbox zen” of building a naturalistic prehistoric haven, the expansion adds a staggering 387 scenery pieces and 37 blueprints. You can design your park using the aesthetics of the industrial InGen facility or blend your enclosures into the landscape with towering, ancient Mayan Temple structures.
Furthermore, the addition of Open Air Aviaries means you can construct massive flying habitats with elevated heights and zero visual obstructions. To keep things interesting, scientists can now utilize Experimental Traits to induce drastic behavioral and social changes in your dinosaurs. At the same time, a new Assignment system splits your progression between story-critical priority missions and optional genome-unlocking side hustles.
Update 1.3: The Free Side Order of Chaos
Because Frontier loves a celebration, June 16 also marks the deployment of Update 1.3—a completely free patch for all Jurassic World Evolution 3 base-game owners. The update packs some highly requested features, including:
-Semi-Aquatic T. rex Behavior: Because a multi-ton apex predator wasn’t scary enough on dry land, the T. rex can now take a dip in your deeper lagoons.
-Cretaceous Cruises in Aviaries: Guests can now paddle their boats directly underneath your flying reptiles.
-The Return of the Cearadactylus: The fan-favorite pterosaur returns from JWE2, completely re-engineered to operate within a tight-knit family unit.
Fire up your generators, double-check your paddock locks. Check out the official Jurassic World Evolution 3: Rebirth Expansion announcement trailer and prepare for the slaughter next Tuesday.
