Hold onto your cowboy hats and lock up your livestock. The creative team behind the 2025 prehistoric cult hit Primitive War is back, and they are trading the jungles of Vietnam for the lawless Wild West—complete with feathers, scales, and rows of razor-sharp teeth.
Filmmaker Luke Sparke has dropped the first cryptic teaser for an ambitious, untitled new project that blends classic frontier mythology with an alternate reality where humans and dinosaurs have co-existed for generations. Inspired by the striking artwork of Shaun Keenan, the project aims to deliver a cinematic universe where “high noon” takes on a whole new, cold-blooded meaning.
A Frontier Full of Teeth
The brief teaser serves as a tantalizing first look before the team opens up the floor to the fans. This isn’t just a movie announcement; it’s a call to arms for creature-feature fanatics.
“This is an opportunity for dinosaur enthusiasts, Primitive War fans, and cinema buffs to be a part of the production process and create something the world has never seen,” Sparke teased. “We want to create something that feels completely fresh while still capturing the sense of wonder and adventure that first made us fall in love with dinosaur stories.”
The Countdown to July 7th
True to the nature of a good mystery, the creative team is guarding the official title and full-length trailer like a prized T. rex egg. Everything—including exclusive backer rewards—will be unveiled when the official Kickstarter campaign kicks off in exactly 20 days, on July 7th. If you’ve ever wanted to see a raptor lassoed or a triceratops outside a saloon, you’ll want to mark your calendars.
The full reveal drops when the Kickstarter goes live. Check out the mysterious first teaser below, and get ready to saddle up. In the meantime, stream Primitive War now on Disney+ or Hulu.
